Does Your Dorm Room Shape How You Act?

Does Your Dorm Room Shape How You Act? Short answer? Yeah, it definitely does!

I’ve seen it with my brothers, my friends, and myself. If you have a messy, crammed up room or if you are not comfortable in your room, it will gradually start to affect you negatively. You waste time looking for your things, you are stressed even before you leave for class and at times you do not even want to be in your own room. That is not a healthy way to live especially when one has so many other things to worry about in life including school, work and others. I have assisted people in arranging their dormitories in a way that suits their lifestyle, and the results speak for themselves – everything has a place, and the room looks and feels clean, organized, and comfortable. I have noticed that when you arrange your things correctly, it changes the way you think. You are more productive, less nervous, and most likely to keep your things in order. Your room should be a haven that will help you achieve your goals and not the source of your problems. It also takes little things to make a big difference. A lamp that does not hurt your eyes at night. A shelf where you can actually get your things without stretching your back. A small trash can on your desk so that wrappers and the like do not accumulate in the corners (come on, we have all done it). These may seem like small changes but they do change the way you feel as well as the way you behave. You shouldn’t be flawless or have a dorm that looks like it was designed by a professional. However, your space should make your life easier and not a source of stress. The less cluttered and more systematic it is, the more freedom and leeway you get to use for the things that are most important to you, such as learning, chilling or hosting friends without having to worry about the mess. In conclusion, it is correct to say that your dorm room does affect your behavior. The beauty of it all is that you have a say in how you want to arrange your dorm room. I am here to assist you in doing so. Thank you for your time, I hope this helps, and have a nice day.
